Saturday Braai

Acrylic on Canvas, 100 × 150 cm

Saturday Braai

Saturday Braai captures a warm evening in South Africa, where friends, family, new faces and different generations came together around one table. Fresh fish and prawns went onto the braai, food was passed around, conversations crossed the room and the evening grew louder and livelier as it went on.

Nothing about the gathering had been carefully planned, yet somehow the mix of people worked perfectly. The painting holds onto that particular kind of happiness that appears when good food and good company come together and nobody is quite ready for the evening to end.
