Meet the Artist

I paint what life serves – strawberries, artichokes, crabs with personality.
My work is inspired by everyday beauty, shared meals, and a hint of humour.
I live and work in the Bavarian alps .

Pia Forster (b. 1993, Germany) brings together her background in architecture, architectural history and art history to paint vivid, joy-filled worlds grounded in real life. Her expressive acrylic works revolve around shared meals, spontaneous gatherings, and the warmth of domestic rituals—rendered in bold colors, lively patterns, and a touch of humor. Food is never just still life here—it’s storytelling, memory, and celebration.

Whether it’s a crab lounging beside lemon slices or a table full of scattered macarons and half-filled glasses, her paintings capture a sense of presence: of people just having left the frame, of conversations that echo still. Each work is an invitation—to join the table, take part, and remember what togetherness feels like.

Pia works between Indonesia, Munich, and the Bavarian countryside, where garden harvests and cross-continental life continue to shape her imagery. Her paintings have been shown in group exhibitions in New York and Miami, and her work was recently auctioned in support of “Daughters for Life”.

With ongoing series like Trip to London, Afternoon Tea, and Fast Food Fantasy & Garden Greens, she reimagines everyday scenes as vibrant portraits of joy, community, and care.

I love to travel and collect inspiration along the way—whether it’s a backroad in Indonesia or a waterfall near home. Bright colours, good tea, garden apples, and a bit of chaos all find their way into my work.
