Weckmänner is a tribute to warm memories and winter rituals. The playful gingerbread figures at the heart of this painting are a nod to a tradition I grew up with – a simple pastry full of character and charm. Around them swirls a lively table scene: bowls of layered jelly, piles of fluffy lemon puffs, colourful macarons, and flickering candles that recall early evenings and thoughtful conversation.

The piece balances nostalgic motifs with contemporary references – like the casually placed “Vogue Gespräche” – suggesting a meeting point between old and new, tradition and trend. It's a visual story about connection, comfort, and the joy of sharing sweets and stories at the table.
